Unfair and frustrating

The current setup allows a level 10 to attack a level 8 or even 7. If you write the developer they will respond but they treat you like a newb and point you to how-to videos. Even if I win on defense, I lose more resources than are usually even available on attack! And you need a ridiculous amount of resources to advance past level 8, which is near impossible with all the attacks by stronger forces! It used to be more fun.
So frustrating I would quit but I dont want to let down my squad.
Addendum: Version 4.1 is buggy. The app has started crashing on me and it never did before. The buggiest part is the chat window.
